Jim had just moved to L.A. On the first day of school, he meets Judy on the way and offers her a ride. Although she did not accept this situation, she was seen by her friends. This group of friends are delinquents, and among them is Buzz Gunderson. Since then, Jim has not been accepted into the student environment.
After a field trip, Jim and Buzz end up in a knife fight. Buzz convinces Jim to a “Chickie Run” which ends up fatal to the first. As the police approach, Buzz’s friends run away leaving Judy behind. Jim convinces Judy to stay with him and Plato.
Although Jim’s parents do not agree with his son, they go to the police station to confess what had happened to Inspector Ray. He was not there and they left. When Jim arrives home he meets Judy who apologises to him for the way she had treated him until then.Plato was caught by Buzz’s friends who stole his agenda with Jim’s address. Plato gets a gun to help defend Jim, and finds him with Judy in an abandoned mansion where they intend to live, to escape their families.
Judy and Jim follow Plato to the observatory and convince him to surrender. When Plato leaves, one of the policemen sees that he still has his gun in his hand and ends up killing him.
