Leonard Cohen on the cover of Blitz number 14, published in 1985. Inside, articles related to Heróis do Mar, Neo-Mono-Var, Eurythmics, Mighty Wah!, Motorhead and Buddy Holly.
Blitz
Blitz was a newspaper/magazine that was published in Portugal between 1984-2018 in paper format. In the first years it was published in newspaper format, then it moved to magazine format. Nowadays it exists in digital format.
Heróis do Mar
After 3 years since their birth, Heróis do Mar have already released 2 albums, 1 mini album and 2 maxi-singles. They will release a new album and it will be called “a lenda dos Heróis do Mar“. The new album will have 12 new songs. This edition comes with a comic book by Jorge Colombo.

Leonard Cohen
After 5 years without recording, Leonard Cohen released a new album “various positions“. With the release of the album, the musician entered in a tourné, that will end in Portugal. He has been giving several interviews and press conferences. In this article you can find one of those press conferences. Topics covered include women, literature and Cohen himself.
It is also highlighted that in Spain Leonard Cohen met Patxi Andion. Patxi is a declared Cohen’s admirer and has introduced him to the writer Federico Garcia Lorca, who is also an admirer of Cohen. A great empathy was born between the two musicians that promised to create an album together.

Mighty Wah!
Mighty Wah! are a new-wave/post-punk band formed in Liverpool (UK). Pete Wyllie is one of the founders and “soul” of the band. This article is a journey through the songs and albums made by the band. It highlights the idea that this group is weird, edgy and bright, made in the image of Pete Wyllie. Often egocentric and self-biographical.

Neo-Mono-Var
A new band appeared in Porto, with sounds that remind Bauhaus, Sound, Eno or New Order. This band started by rehearsing in rooms and garages, where the neighbours called the police. At the moment, already with some stability, they rehearse in a basement where they can create with more tranquility.
Eurythmics
The British duo Eurythmics formed by Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox had in 1984 a year of consecration.
Since their involvement in the soundtrack of the film “1984” this group has been involved in numerous controversies. Even before that, the Eurythmics with their androgynous look, many people thought Annie Lennox was a transvestite. Only after the singer got married and altered her aesthetic did these people come to their senses.
In 1978, Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox were already playing in Portugal (Cascais), when they were part of the band The Tourists.

Motorhead
Motorhead have recorded the single “Killed by the death” whose track has ghostly outlines. Lemmy tells the story of this track which had been thought up before he played in Hawkwind. He was in a small band and they decided to rehearse in a cottage in a village 35/40 km away from where they lived. During their stay, especially at night, they would hear all sorts of noises that were alien to the band. From moaning, footsteps of people, or doors opening and closing by themselves.
Also in this article is referred to the constant changes of musicians in recent times, and the last lp live that the band released “no sleep ’till hammersmith”.
Buddy Holly
In “busca no sotão” (search in the attic) is the space dedicated to artists who are no longer with us. This article is dedicated to the Texan Buddy Holly, one of the pioneers of Rock. Besides being a story-life, it is accompanied by his discography that was in the tops in the United Kingdom.
