Today I present to you one of the most successful magazines in Portugal, the Colecção Cinema. This magazine was distributed all over the country, from the big cities to the rural world. In the 1950s, Portugal was a country that was economically poor and technologically undeveloped. Cinema only existed in the big cities, and television was just starting to take its first steps. Through these magazines, films reached everyone every week.

Colecção Cinema
The Colecção Cinema is a Portuguese magazine published between 1952 and 1967. Totally dedicated to movies.
It has 3 formats and 27 series.In the first series (1952) 20 issues were edited. Each issue contains the novelization of several films. The format is 21,3/28,7cm.Between the second and the seventh series (1953-1956), each series has 10 numbers. Each number contained 3 or 4 movie novelisations. Its format is 16,9/23,9cm.
The 8/26 series (1956-1964), have 20 numbers each. Each one corresponds to a movie.
The 27 series (1964/1965) contains other articles besides a single movie. More than 100 numbers came out. The 8/27 series have the format of 12,1/16,9cm.
In 1967 a third phase comes out with more than 20 issues published, and in each issue 2 films (12,1/16,9cm).

Plot Summary:
Elena is beautiful and works in rice farming. The landlord, Guerrini, has recognized Elena as his natural and illegitimate daughter through her name. From then on Guerrini tries to protect and help her. Elena falls in love with the car mechanic Gianni. When Guerrini’s nephew harasses the girl, the situation becomes dramatically much worse.
