Plot Summary
Norman Maine (James Mason), a fading movie star and an alcoholic, meets Esther Blodgett (Judy Garland), a dreamy artist who wants stardom. After a while, the two get married and she starts to become a big star, who now goes by Vicky Lester. That’s where her problems begin, as her husband can’t stand to see his defeat and Esther’s victory as an artist at the same time, which ends up leading him to drinks. This ends up shaking his wife’s career.
