Plot Summary
The young doctor Simon Sparrow (Dirk Bogarde) embarks on “The Lotus”, a cargo ship run by Captain Hogg, an authoritarian and strange character. At one of the stops on the voyage, they are forced to pick up the whimsical daughter of the ship’s owner and a beautiful French singer. The presence of the two women will soon revolutionise the whole crew…
